Jeg bruger altid mit lysbord, når jeg tegner. Lysbordet giver mig muligheden for at bruge den originale skitse igen og igen til nye tegninger. På den måde kan jeg lave hver enkelt motiv i et ubegrænset antal farver, og se hvad der virker bedst 😍 Men selvom jeg har skitsen til tegningen på forhånd, tager det stadigvæk omkring +2 timer (eller ca. 1,5 Disneyfilm, hvilket udgør min primær tidsopfattelse på mit atelier) at lave en ny tegning.

I have been thinking a lot about this illustration the last couple of days. I made the sketch for the illustration last summer when I worked in Ilulissat, Greenland. Donald Trump now wants to 'buy' Greenland or 'take it' with military powers or economic sanctions on Denmark and the Rigsfællesskab. It is beyond my wildest imagination that a human being can actually be so arrogant and reckless. What does it even mean to 'buy' a country? Will you 'own' the mountains, the birds, the sea? Will you 'own' my in-laws who live in Nuuk, the greenlandic people, and their rich culture?

But my words are unnecessary. Múte B. Egede said everything that needed to be said: Greenland belongs to the Greenlandic people.

Most people in the city don't like the feral pigeon/city dove – they're everywhere, they poop all over, and they’re considered unhygienic. On the other hand, the ‘white peace pigeon’ has always been cherished in religion, art, and mainstream Western culture. But personally, I kind of prefer the feral pigeon to the 'white dove'. I love walking around the city, watching these beautiful birds (yes, I’ll probably end up as the pigeon lady from Home Alone 2…). That’s why I created this illustration as a tribute to all the basic grey feral pigeons out there – I appreciate you!

I convinced my boyfriend that we need a dedicated 'Greenland' wall in our appartement. I am so pleased with this mix of art pieces from Ivinguak Stork Høegh ( @art_graphic_artist ), Camilla Hammer ( @en_strandet_hval ), Pernille Egetoft ( @pernille_egetoft ) and myself 🔥

I convinced my boyfriend that we need a dedicated 'Greenland' wall in our appartement. I am so pleased with this mix of art pieces from Ivinguak Stork Høegh ( @art_graphic_artist ), Camilla Hammer ( @en_strandet_hval ), Pernille Egetoft ( @pernille_egetoft ) and myself 🔥

Forrige lørdag er jeg til Neu kunstmarked i Aalborg. Jeg smiler, men bag mit smil, er jeg utrolig nervøs. Her, ved min lille stand, udstiller jeg mine værker - udstiller mig selv. Min værker - eller min 'kunst', som jeg øver mig i at kalde det - er det mest intime og personlige jeg ejer. At hænge mine billeder op til offentlig skue, føles næsten som at tage tøjet af og råbe 'se verden, her er jeg!'. At lade al min appelsinhud og alle mine deller komme til frit skue for hundredvis af mennesker i 7 stive timer (bare rolig, jeg taler stadig i metaforer).

Tak til alle jer der kom forbi min stand. Tak fordi I tog jer tid til at kigge på min kunst. Tak fordi I spurgte ind til den og roste den. Hver enkel lille positive kommentar eller anerkende smil betyder alverden for mig, og giver mig gåpåmodet til at fortsætte.

Ravens have through time often been connected with 'the uncanny'. But I have always liked ravens - in nordic mythology the ravens, as Odins helpers, are symbols of 'wisdom' and 'memory'.
The first time I went to Greenland the first thing I noticed (except for all the snow) was the ravens. The Greenlandic raven, or Tulugaq, are gigantic and extremely beatiful. The fly around over the icy landscape minding their own buisness but, at the same time, you cant help but feeling that the keep an eye on all of us. Observing. Remembering.
